pump don"t work T3

Post by oktane »

Hi Everyone!

Recently became the proud owner of T3 transporter air cooled. But the problem is that the engine does not want to start.Exactly what drew the attention of the fuel pump will not turn on the ignition it, even though the machine pump work.Bosch system.V plans to change the engine on the other, but still want to see what can be done with it.
Tell me what could be the problem?

Sorry my friend but it is a bit hard to understand your problem from your words.

I will try to help.

First, Is there a standard mechanical fuel pump fitted and does it send out petrol ?

as I read it.. when you turn on the ignition the pump does not start?
but you have checked the pump and it works

Friend, it is hard for us to help with the small amount of information and the possible problem with translation.

Your electric pump is NOT working, is this correct ?

As far as I know, T3 was never fitted with electric pump as standard, only mechanical.

If yours has electrical pump only the man who fitted it knows where the relay is fitted.
You could trace the wires back to find it ?

Let us know for certain, is the electric pump not working ? If this is the case, it might be simpler to get a standard mechanical pump, this will not cost much money, and fit that

I'm sure he has put power to the pump, and it's fine, now he wants to know if a relay was fitted where it would it be..
obviously the electric pump is not a factory item, and oktane would need to look for it.

My guess would be in the engine bay or near the ignition switch.

Many air cooled T25s for the U.S. market were fitted with the 2.0l CV fuel injection engine. My first T25 a 1980 air cooled camper had a 2.0l CV engine fitted as a replacement but it had the standard twin carbs as is normal in the UK. Is it possible that the fuel injected models were supplied to some European countries?

do you have 12v at the coil when ignition on?

pump will not work all the time
bypass the relay by connecting terminals - diagram is on the relay

next check for spark from coil.
