I took the Syncro up on Exmoor today for my first snow outing - AWESOME! Really surprised by how little the Syncro was affected by the snow and ice, I had to try really hard to loose traction. I was ploughing through 2ft snow drifts no problem! I think I have fallen even more in love with it now, smitten in fact. The last pic is a vid (if it works!)
Great pics, hope the snow lasts till the weekend. We have about 2cm here on the Blackdowns, but there is a lot of ice. I had to find a few undriven lanes this morning on the way to work just for fun, and came across a Mitsubishi L200 that had been slithering around trying to get up a hill, he had given up and reversed down. The Syncro just purred up with no drama. Worth having the tyres a little down on pressure. dropped mine to 30 front 35 rear. Down 10 all round, and a lot more traction. The syncro must be the most stable snow ice vehicle, makes Land-Rovers look positively dangerous. I have found that Landies are prone to spin outs on the slippery stuff, and usually at speed. The trouble is this lulls you into a false sense of security as no vehicle can brake well on ice, and you have to keep reminding yourself of this.
We now have permission to drive our 4x4's at work, at 40p a mile, so hoping the snow gets worse.
Unfortunately I had to work throughout our meager snow fall, but got these photos on my phone on Thursday morning. It was minus 10 deg, which is cold for Devon.
We might not get green laning up here in Scotland but yesterday was a brilliant white lane. Cleish over Loch Glow road behind Dunfermline. We had a ball

Im getting a bit bored with it now after 8 days. The roads are getting the ice potholes now and all the slush is freezing solid with the -8C we have now and the vibrations, bumps and bangs are all coming through .....
