Pics of your bog boxes?

Post by kathyshack »

Need to build a bog box to house the porta loo. Anyone got any pics of theirs? My cupboard is a reimo style so not sure what type of box to build. Plain box, or fancy edging or rounded corners etc etc. Just looking for inspiration.

Kathy
We made ours from a timber laundry basket bought from IKEA. I think is was £12 new. There are normally some on ebay. See link below. It was the perfect size for the loo. We Stained the timber & used some spare formica we bought to make the camper furniture & covered the holes in the sides. Then made a matching cushion cover to match rock & roll bed. Picked up a buddy stool to hook on the side. I'll take a photo at the weekend

I made a seat/box for my Bi-Pot 30 out of 16mm MDF. I made it with two drawers at the bottom to raise it to the height of the other seats. It is held in place by two little latches. The front is removeable to make it easier to get the Bi-Pot out. If you look at my posts under Bi-Pot 30 seat you will see some pictures.

We have a Reimo interior and this is the before and after

It's kind of modular stuff screwed into the grey plastic corner pieces and as the paint was proving a pig to remove, I dismantled the box, turned everything the other way around and hey presto, grey outside, purple inside!

Still waiting to do the seat and back pads but we've just changed the rear cushion covers as the originals were starting to go

Hope this helps and you don't think the purple was the better option!

Well, I really wasn't expecting that to be; bodged, broken, leaking, lost, missing, mangled, rusty, rotten, stripped, siezed - pass the Stella and it'll all be better

Thanks guys. Some good solutions there. Did well with the ikea box.
Mr b any chance of a pic with lid open so I can see where hinges are etc. My unit in van is reimo style so you box design might be just the ticket.
