Had to give the next door neighbour a lift to Glasgow airport yesterday to pick up his other half. Checked Traffic Scotland and it said all clear on the route I was taking. Got to exactly the same place I was trapped on Sunday to find a 7 mile tailback. What is the point of Traffic Scotland if the information isn't current. Stuck from 8:30ish till 11:30pm. It's all well and good having a capable 4x4 but it is bloody useless behind a mass of other cars.
Did get a laugh though. A bunch of students in a Corsa decided they would build a snow bridge over the central barrier. They spent about about an hour building this bridge. Tested it twice then the cops stopped and gave them a talking to. Most amusing. The thing is it would have worked. Might of got a surprise on the other side if they hadn't compacted the snow enough. I tried to take a picture but it was too dark. I was hoping for a classic youtube video.

Tell me about it.
Their ability to keep up to date with even the M8 is appauling.
Funny thing is, as I was sitting in a three hour que to get from Hamilton to Dunfermline on monday morning, I heard an interview with one of their guys who went to great lengths to tell the interviewer about the team of people behind the scene keeping the system right up to date.
I then got stuck in a que again on the way home as they had shut the M8, that wasnt on their system either.
6hrs for a 90mile trip.

Re: Traffic Scotland is rubbish
I thought the idea of a syncro was to be able to travel on the roads that normal people would not even think about travelling in this weather. I have been having great fun travelling around central Scotland on the roads that would normally be avoided. Surprise, surprise there are no other cars on them, brilliant.
Looks like another 2 to 3 inches again tonight. we are seriously deep in the white stuff well over a foot now getting close to two.

Where have you been then Chiz? Dunfermline to Kirkcaldy doesn't count. I would take the back roads in good weather.
Cheers
