Had it happen a couple of years ago, had to left foot brake to slow it down on a decent which made the rear drums too hot for the hadbrake to work - snapped a rear cable trying to get enough clicks to hold it!
A new cable sorted it, but only after the weather warmed up as the whole undervan area was so covered in ice you wouldn't have got anywhere near the bolt without an ice axe. It also took about 50mins of idleing before a cold started JX had produiced enough heat to thor the cable - fuel (thermal) efficency has its down sides!
