First Time Green Laning - recommendations?
Well now that we have had Darth Syncro for over a year, I guess it's time to let him out to play properly. However, we are first timers, so would like to start off gently!
We are based on the South Coast - is Salisbury Plains the best place to start?

Can you get up to Leatherhead for the Surrey Lanes on 4th December?

Do not go off roading on your own. Always have at least one more 4x4 with you! Its the first rule of off roading.

Afraid we can't make the 4th as it's hubby's works do.
We were looking more to early next year as we have at least one friend, maybe more, with a syncro who wants to come off roading with us. Nice family day out!

Re: First Time Green Laning - recommendations?
allx_b,
I did my first bit of green laning at one of the 'informal' meets that are posted on here from time to time (see viewtopic.php?f=4&t=61464&start=0). If you are prepared to make the hike (and you are slightly closer than me) we had a lot of fun in January at the SW Syncro meet; just wish that I hadn't had to shoot off so soon.
It was great to meet lot's of like-minded people with a very common interest - syncro's are pretty unique vehicles.
I managed to garner some very useful advice from syncroswede and syncrosimon with regards both driving, and idiosyncrocies (no pun intended!) of the vehicles themselves. Dave at Futbus was kind enough to host the event from his old workshop and is planning another event Feb/Mar next year. See http://www.facebook.com/Futbus. I hope to be there if I'm back in the UK by then, otherwise it would be good to do some laning more locally. Salisbury Plain has been done before...

P.S. Spotted a Grey Reimo Syncro in Southampton (West Quay) back in October, was that you?

Re: First Time Green Laning - recommendations?
Hi Alex
We would be interested in getting together in the new year, to do Salisbury or maybe sort out something a bit more local.
We are only in Bournemouth, really does depend on what you had in mind?
The bigger meets with the Synconauts are really good to meet more experienced drivers and learn how capable the syncro really is.
Have you got any Idea on dates?

Not us, but interesting to know there is another around - ours is black (hence 'Darth Syncro!) and rhd.
