I have a rather odd problem on my 1990 1.9 petrol van.
Coming home this morning, the battery warning light came on (nothing odd so far!).
I stopped and checked all the connections and fuses but could find nothing. I had about 60 miles to go, no need for lights, so I carried on and got it home.
This is where it gets odd. I checked the battery voltage and it was 12.78 for the vehicle battery and 12.6 for the leisure. With the engine running I got 13.6 at both.
The warning light does not go out at all, but the system is obviously charging OK.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks,
Neil

Re: T25 battery warning
Hello,
the alternator light is earthed through the voltage regulator (I think it's D+). If the wire coming from the warning light in the dash is earthed anywhere then it will come on. I think that wire is blue - check it's not earthed anywhere, and also check that when the alternator is charging, whether that wire at the voltage regulator is earthing (it shouldn't be). Sometimes the regulator brushes and so on just need cleaning up. If it's charging at 13.6 (usually 14.4) it might be the regulator itself needs a bit of a clean. I'm sure someone will come along with good advice about other possible reasons or how to clean up the regulator too soon!

As well as ewens advice... I would suggest the brush pack internal connection needs a clean. (metal tang that pushes against the pack as you fit it)
red light means no charge... as you know.
