vw central locking

Post by lloydy »

my new purchase has the original central locking, but no key fob. So can you still get replacement fobs? Is there a test switch somewhere to check whats working?
Many thanks, lloyd

My '90 Caravelle has origional CL, It had a remote key fob alarm connected to the CL when I bought it, but I'm pretty sure the alarm was not VW.
The CL should lock / unlock all doors from either of the two cab doors.
I fitted an aftermarket alarm and CL interface box, so can now remotly lock /unlock.

On doing some reading, i noticed i was talking rubbish. CL works off the key, not a blipper
So now just have to trace the reason it doesn't open any of the doors.
Been reading up some of your advice on previous posts on CL. Good advice Will look at each motor in turn and check if they are jammed, could well be as none of the handles operate that nicely
