Recently new to Club 80-90. Brought my T25 (Bluebell) a couple of months ago and thought I would start the winter re-furb by removing and replacing the roof lining. After removing the roof lining found a small leak in the right rear by the tale gate. After further investigation I found that the panel above the tail gate that connects the high top to the van was rotten/rusted behind the seal. Has anyone else had this problem? If so has anyone got any solutions for self fixing if not does anyone know of any good T25/VW bodyshops where I could get this fixed in the Midlands? Also any ideas on how much I should be paying. Counting all the pennys before Christmas
have you got side windows in the high top?..ifso they may be leaking but you wont notice because of the carpet on the inside of the roof(its only a slight drip but builds up over time).if they are the water will run down to the gutter and cant get out because of the sealant holding the roof on and just run to where ever the lowest point of the van is(depends how you are parked)if the van is left stood for a long period of time you can get a right big puddle too.over winter it can freeze and you have a lovely ice rink in there.

thats the idea!
cheer him right up!
its the awful truth ,iknow, but it does happen and anyone who has a high top and wants to hopefully save on a big job in the future..then perhaps check your window seals and have a good look onto the 4 corners of the roof to make sure water isnt building up after a good down pour.

Hi all
Stripped out all the roof carpet, cupboards and beds, so its just bare fibre glass. Took it to a body shop today, and they think they can weld it up and do the repair without taking the roof off for around £280 all being well.

Not to sound off but how the hell are they gonna do that properly with the roof on???

No hubbys not that fast even after 3 shredded wheat. Did wonder about the fixing without taking the roof off, thats why we thought we would ask trusty 80-90.
no,seriously,i cant repair that.im a structural welder with hardly any vehicle experiance other than working on my van.there are people on here that will be more than willing to help you out though but taking the roof off is the only option as james was saying.any heat around the roof will melt and distort it
metal mickey can give you the best advice me thinks
