Re: Welsh Bordering
Thank you, Ricicles. It's (mainly) a very pleasant part of Britain.

William Penny Brookes!! I never hated PE but I can hear the voices of hundreds of souls 'Thast the b'stard who created the worst nightmare of all lessons'
I visited Knighton usually in February half term and usually catch it in snow - it has the largest independent supermarket I've ever seen which is a good thing to see. I've been meaning to go back to the Long Mynd for a camp - not sure whether to use a campsite or get away with camping up on the Mynd itself.
Fab stuff as usual Miles. I need to stick some photos up of my narrow boat week on the Shropshire Union canal

Re: Welsh Bordering
Thanx, Louey. It's a funny old job, especially in the less isolated parts of the UK, the unofficial overnighting thing.
I'm almost always on my own when I do it, and never want to annoy anyone by doing it, even fat cat landowners.
I'm always more concerned about shouts of Oi, get off moi la-a-and, then I am about being buzzed by boy racers types.
I've never experienced the former, but have had too much of the latter.
If I can't get right out of sight, then a wide verge on a quiet lane will do for me, and I prefer to arrive at dusk to reduce the likelihood of someone making a fuss. It seems to me that wide verges are good, because Mr Average tends to think of verges as a No-man's Land.
