Italian Lakes

Post by si macc »

I'm sure there are lots of people out there who have visited the Italian lakes (Como, Lugano , etc...). What's it like in a camper? I assume there are good camping spots but are there any 'aires' or wild camping spots?

Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated!

The lakes are amazing in the summer. No aires or wild camping. When are you going

Not been there myself but I was talking to an Italian campervan owner while in Italy last Summer and he informed me the lakes are grotesquely expensive but there are a few nice campsites ... http://www.alanrogers.com/camping/count ... tyCode=538 ... so long as you don't mind paying through the nose to stop there. Take as much food as you can in with you from France/Germany.
