So, the garage has so far quoted me this for the gearbox parts, so basically tells us what was broken. Ive translated them from German to English, if you see some funny words!
- Quantity = German = English
- 1 = Südafrikableche = South African Panels
- 1 = Spanmutter = clamping/splitting nut
- 4 = Syncronringe = synchroniser ring
- 2 = Dichtdeckel Atriebswellen = driveshaft seal lid
- 2 = Wellendichtringe = shaft sealing ring
- 2 = Hauptlager = main bearing
- 4 = Kugelkäfig = ball bearing retainer
- 1 = Nadelkäfig = needle cage
- 1 = Wellendichtring = shaft sealing ring
- 1 = Kugellager = Ball Bearing
- 1 = Syncroneinheit (gebraucht (neu 140 Euro)) = Syncro (Used (new 140 Euro))
- 1 = Schaltrad 1 Gang gebraucht = 1st Gear Wheel (Used)
- 1 = R-Rad gebraucht = Reverse Gear Wheel (Used)
- 1 = Führungsmuffe = synchroniser hub
For all of the above approx 600 euro

Then the gasket set for both cylinder heads too at 350 euro. So all in all 1000 euro grand for the parts so far.
They also told me that the engine is already been took apart, so guess no issues with the old "can of worms" so far.
