Hi,
I'm thinking of replacing a 1.6 CT engine with a 2.0 CU engine. Does anyone know if this is effectively a straight swop or do you have the upgrade the the gear box/ drive train or anything else to worry about?
Who are the best for recon engines?
Thanks for any help.

Did this a few months back...
Ideally change gearbox too as ratios are different and whilst nobody will beat you 'off the lights' a top end of about 60 not so good!
2l clutch is hydraulic so either swap all the clutch system too...or change the bell housing from the 1.6 box onto the 2l box and keep it cable operated..(top tip from Rich Newton!)
Managed to do it in a day with help from folk who knew what the hell was going on....I certainly didn't!!
Well worth doing as my bus is now a much less laboured drive.
