Is this right or am I being 'special'?
Trying to remove the starter motor as making a funny noise which I suspect is the bush so gonna replace that and see how we go.
As I understand it there are 2 bolts holding the starter to the clutch housing - one at about 7 o'clock and one at 1 o'clock.
The one at 7 o'clock came off easy with a 17mm ring spanner - happy days
So, had to do a bit of thinking and felt nut with my hand and felt really smooth but with a wedge on the bottom - What the blithering heck
Confused so got inspection lamp and a mirror so could see it properly and the nut is 'D' shaped so totally rounded other the 1 flat side. This has not been rounded off by ill fitting spanners; it is the type of nut - the likes of which I have never seen before...
Is this normal and the correct nut / bolt for this hole? Also, how the f&*k do you get that off?....the flat side is at the bottom of the hole so can't get spanner on it as fouls on the casing...
Soz if I'm being a div but been trying for 3 hours to get one nut / bolt off and it's doing my head in
