Wiring looms
Do we collectively know anywhere that makes up wiring looms or someone who supplies all the loom components

Re: Wiring looms
I get all my electrical bits from - http://www.polevolt.co.uk/ - and they made a loom for my BOSE amplifier.

Re: Wiring looms
If you want replacements for original harnesses, you can still get the plastic terminal housings from VW. A fair proportion of the actual terminals are standard 1/4" spades which just snap into the housings, though there are some odd ones (eg. 7-pin engine plug) that has special terminals and I'm not sure about sources for these. I know Vehicle Wiring Products do stock some 'special' terminals. What are you after making ?

I need to make up 3 engine to ECU harnesses for my Mercedes E220, E200 and E280. Mercedes in their wisdom made these harnesses out of bio - degradable materials and they are now starting to do just that. The E280 is in a dangerous condition as the engine heat has accelerated the condition. Mercedes charge £560 for the 4 cyl engine harness and £670 for the 6 cyl engine harness. If they short out the ECU dies and they are £1200 each. I have stripped a spare harness of its components and now I need to source quality wiring and connectors etc to finish the job.

What a brilliant site. All the loom hardware I spent ages stripping off the old loom is there! Ill be able to rebuild each loom for about £80 ..... happy days!
Thanks Doug!
