Saab Seat help..

Post by Iceworx »

Few quick questions..

I've purchased some Saab seats, but im not sure what model Saab they are from. they are velour, and have some electrical connectors underneath, but mechanical movement.

Some pictures are below...

What I would like to know is..

1. What Saab are they from?
2. Can I still make them fit?
3. The plugs underneath, i assume they are heated? if so is it possible to get this working? what other parts are needed? and any necessary wiring diagrams.

Not sure as the runners look like they bolt on different to Saab 9000 seats

Have a look at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/georgina_s ... tting.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I spaced the runners so they were the same witdth as standard seats so I didn't have to drill through the cab floor. From your photos I can't really see how the seat bolts to the runners or how different the seat forward/backwards level is

Hmm i'll whip the passenger one out first and offer the Saab one up.

See what needs to be done to make it fit.

I'll take a few photos too, so if its works, you can chuck it in the wiki :)

I also wanted to avoid grinding off the original runners just in case I wanted to go back to standards......which I now am :D

Give Covkid a bell over adding anything to the wiki. I haven't been able to add to the wiki since the priveliges were changed

I fitted the same seats, i had to wing it by bolting steel plates on to my runners for the saab seat runners to sit on. I'm in Denton and doing nothing on Sunday, i can pop down to you and you can take a look for an idea if it helps.

9-5 seats. Fitted leather ones of these to mine. Passenger seat was onto a swivel base so just bolted straight on but i wanted to keep the height down on the drivers seat so that my legs went under the steering wheel comfortably. drilled the spot weld out and removed the existing runners, drilled new holes and used spreader plates in the wheel arch for added strength.
Couple of hours work for a lot more comfort.

HI guys,

My mate also has some 9-5 seats for her T25 and i have the joys of fitting them! See I bought some 9000 ones for mine, said that it was easy-ish to fit and she's bought the 9-5's instead (ooppss!).

Your help so far hsa been great, think I can get the seats fitted. BUT the heating bit, anyone any ideas over how to do that? I can see how to do it with 9000 seats but struggling with these.

Any of you got yours heated and if so fancy sharing it with me? Any help much appreciated as its in my lockup now having a new interior and windows fitted (not road worth at moment) so this would be an ideal time whilst its a shell to sort wiring out, plus its going for an MOT mid Feb and ideally she would like them in by then.

Any help would be really appreciated!
