hey, really close to finishng my diesel engine conversion, BUT the diesel bell housing i have fitted doesnt have the clutch clylinder bracket attached, so i have bought another bellhousing with one, but how the hell do i get it off!? i really dont want have to take the whole thng apart again to fit the new bell housing,
has anyone ever removed one? thanks

If youve another bell housing you bought with the bracket fitted then remove it? you can see the bolts securing it and if I remember there is a circlip securing the release arm to the shaft remove this take bracket off from behind this and repeat on your installed box

The arm can be difficult to remove, even after you've got the circlip off. If you remove the other circlip from inside the bellhousing, you can pull the whole shaft out just far enough to get a set of pullers behind the arm. It helps to drill a shallow centre hole in the end of the shaft to stop the pullers slipping off too.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

thanks for the help guys- I managed to borrow a puller and with the tips (remove inner circlip and drill a small hole in the end of the shaft) get it off
