Syncro PAS
So, got me mitts on a rhd pas unit for my 1.9td. The unit came off a 2wd petrol engine.
Im wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what pipework is best to use. Have seen the ad in the for sale section for syncro pipes but, seems I was too late.
Is anyone using flexible hydraulic pipes from rear to front?
Will the pump that came with the unit above fit my td?
Whats the correct position for the resevoir?
thanks

Re: Syncro PAS
Baxter sells a hydraulic pipe set which will do the job. >>clicky<<
I reckon the pumps are the same but the brackets may be different
The res is usually mounted on the RHS of the engine bay beside the fuel filter

Nice 1 SP thanks
Was thinking I'd probably need to do something with the pump/engine bracket. I do have an old passat (SB code td) that had pas on it so Im hoping the bracket from this will fit my 1.9td ok

Re: Syncro PAS
I have also got a full pas kit to fit to my petrol wbx but I can't remember if it came from a petrol or diesel - if it's off a td maybe we could swap the pump brackets?
Anyone got a pic of both installations?

Re: Syncro PAS
biggest issue will be the link rod from the relay box to the rack - if you have the 2wd you will have to change the length of it - if you don't have one then you are stuck really, nla from any source I know of

Oh yes? Watcha got squirrelled away Andrew? Mine came off a 2wd so I was going to resort to chop'n'weld but if you've got the real deal...

Re: Syncro PAS
tis hollow I think - very fine splines, smaller diameter than tube iirc
