oil and coolant types

Post by SamD »

Morning All,

Had a quick look at past threads and probably missed the answers so apologies if time wasting. I've had a 1986 1.6 diesel water-cooled van since April and:

1. I believe semi-synthetic 10w-40 engine oil is the correct one.

2. I had to top up the coolant after a complete leak and I seem to recall it being red/orange in colour previously. I've seen comments about the right and wrong types of coolant and presently I've just topped up with a blue one.

Advice appreciated, thanks.

I'm sure blue doesn't mix with pink/red antifreeze

as for oil any thing that is an equivalent to http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... eyword=oil" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
