Depending on Jack's condition and her reaction to the heat we plan to do the Bordeaux wine region and anything else in that area that takes our fancy using the France Passion vineyards for a week or so and then to bimble back via a few known good beaches and a campsite here and there. IIRC 6th to the 24th August ..... but could be wrong. Same as this year we'll only be booking the ferry

youve timed it beautifuly for a trip the the Loire. at this time of year they make the first pressings of grapes and it ferments a little and becomes alcholic to about 2% to %4 vol. and slightly natural fizzy. its still just tastes of grape juice and is the most amazing stuff you'll ever drink. its called 'bernache'.

i would get it from a wine maker in a small town called 'Blere' the makers there are very good and their finnished wine is at the standard of Loire but the prices are low because its the ' torraine' wine region. (french wine snobbery). you must go direct to the sellers to buy, its cheap and more fun, there will also be farmers all over the show crushing grapes, smoking rollups wearing berets and being intensly french!

the towns nice and theres good camping all around it, very pretty, north of blere theres a municipal camping (1 mile out of blere i think, that doesnt bother charging at this time of year, Free and facilities are still open.
its also right beside a wide beautiful river.

its also season for wild mushrooms and plump almond and hazelnuts.

enjoy!
