Waxoyl/steam clean south Scotland/Cumbria

Post by Ariadne »

Hello hello!

I need to get the underside of my van steam cleaned and waxoyled before the grit and salt hits the roads... can anyone recommend a garage that can do this in Southern Scotland/central belt/Cumbria area?

Someone told me that I need to be careful that the job is done properly, as not cleaning thoroughly before applying waxoyl will simply seal the dirt/salt in and it will further damage the van. It's also been recommended that I approach a bus garage for steam cleaning because they have to do this to coaches as part of routine maintenance. Would rather go with a personal recommendation from one of you lovely people though!

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm not in a position to be able to clean and waxoyl it myself at the moment.

Thanks!!

A

Thank Crunchie it's Friday.

they put a smiley in there! I would think you would want to make sure the bottom was very clean, and perhaps also repair any current damage prior to sealing? This is something I've been looking into as well, though i think it would be best asked in the technical section,as, if nothing else, more people look there?

Try the waxworks in Morpeth, Northumberland. Bit expensive, but that's because they are thorough and will do all your interior panels...also a hike from Scotland, but their website sounds good and I feel pretty keen to try them.

Can you get to t'huddersfield? If so Simon at the Brickwerks does undersealing.

The winter may be over though before you can get it in as he's usually booked up for a while
