low sulphur diesel
Does using low sulphur diesel improve your chances of passing MOT emissions test?

This http://www.dipetaneuk.com/tests.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is supposed to do it (if your engine is reasonably sound)

There is no supposing to it ..... it definitely works as I used it in the Syncro last Saturday and she flew the emissions bit - less than half what it was last time without it! I also used it in the Mercedes 300SE the day before and a similar result was achieved ..... I'm convinced!
Anyway ..... Low sulphur diesel .... can you still buy that?

Re: low sulphur diesel
Just to add my twopenneth. I think all diesel is now low sulphur because of some legislation thing. Old diesels need sulphur for lubrication for the injection system as newer engines have teflon coated bits. To get over this I add 200mls of 2stroke oil to every tankfull of diesel.......it actually works and I originally got this from an American V W website which had carried out thorough testing (they measured the wear on the moving parts with and without the 2stroke) I will try and find it again and post it up. Anyway she is definitely quieter and runs smoother.
This is not the site but interesting

Oh yes, dont use the red dyed 2stroke as it will look as though you are running on red diesel.
And you get a better MPG !

I think you're right about the low sulphur diesel, you certainly cant get it in this part of the world. Ive also heard about adding the oil thing - just make sure your vehicle doesnt have a kat!

Re: low sulphur diesel
Yes, I did try it on our old forlift. Did ten laps of the works with and without the 2stroke and lap times were better with
( Poor old perkins P3)
Careful though I dont think Lucas systems like the 2stroke for some reason.

Two stroke oil works, dipetane works even better (and it's cheaper, at least hereabouts)
