Off road tyre
Really excited about getting my syncro tomorrow. At the moment it has 100% road tyres on 14" rims. Got a set of 15" steels on the way but what should I put on them. Obviously want to go green laneing. Probably won't be doing much motorway or commuting stuff. Sorry if this post is going over an old topic but I'm a syncro virgin right now! Cheers

Re: Off road tyre
Welcome to the smug club
BF Goodridge A/T's will see you right for abit of everything. I have been using them for a while and am trying the M/T ones (second hand) for everyday use but they are noisy as hell and the steering wheel seems harder to turn with them on to. The A/T's are good enough for the bit of off road driving I do every now and again and are great on road too.

Re: Off road tyre
as jed said at`s seemed pretty capable on what we encountered on wales weekend, thats what i`m running only mine are grabber at2`s. if you do decide to run muds permanently on road think about the kumho kl71`s i run a set of these on my delica and are pretty quiet on the tar. if you want off road tyres only i have 2 as new 15" sahara`s that might suit you but they are noisey.

Re: Off road tyre
I've got 15" KL 71's. They are half the price of the BFG's (paid £45 each for mine last year, fitted) and seem to work fine, clog in wet mud a bit but they are AT's.

Harrymann is running the KL71's. Could ask for an informed opinion if you were interested in them.

Re: Off road tyre
i only bought the kl 71`s because a friend of mine ran them on his landy and used to drive passed other landys with bfg muds on that were stuck. could have been he was a good driver but he reconed it was the tyres. he used his landy every day for work and play and they lasted him ages. that, the fact they are conciderably cheaper than bfg and they also get very good reviews in off road tests was good enough for me. only reason i didn`t buy them for the syncro was the size issue. they didn`t do them in the size i wanted.
