Can't find the source of the rain leak, can you help?

I have an 86 LHD Westy Club Joker which leaks, everytime it rains i get a fair amount come in to the driver footwell and then across in the passenger footwell as well. Its not coming in from the door seals but before i start taking bits of the front (New to playing with Vehicles) i was wondering if this is a common leak with a known place to find it.

Could be a few places. Windscreen seal, grommet on aerial or washer jets. I'm sure a few more will get suggested. Probably the best way to find the culprit would be to lay under the steering wheel while someone pours a bucket of water or sprays a hose at the front.

Yeah I think it needs moving to windscreens to be honest but I wanted to get it in there as its a common prob on a lot of T25s right now. I've tried to explain the process as best I can. If left, things just get worse I found. Don't get a drop in mine now - real joy.

As a stopgap measure you could try squeezing a non-setting roofing type sealant under the rubber with the nozzle on the application gun cut for a very narrow bead. Most of the water gets in under the top edge then sneaks (unseen) under the sides and then puddles at the bottom - all under the seal. But you'll need a dry van for weeks before even attempting that - not easy at mo.

DO NOT use silicon - it won't work (or not for much longer than a week). B&Q sell a roofing mastic for about £3 in one of those tubes. Excess can be removed with white spirit. However, and is a BIG however, the rot will continue even if you keep the water out. You really have to get that screen out and sort it for good. The rot is close to the A pillars and without a proper repair, in my view that part of the structure is weakened considerably.

I've had a couple of emails from others wanting theirs done. Rob and I do a lot of this kind of work even though we have other (unrelated) jobs. Best to buy a new seal at same time but get a proper one - not a JK copy which doesn't fit and doesn't look right. If it costs £20 more, so what, you'll only be fitting it once and the chance of cracking the windscreen during the refit is practically nil then. The JK one is like trying to squeeze a car tyre through someones letterbox.
