Hi, if my Dalek cap is goosed will it cause pressure in my coolant hoses and maybe burst. My top up tank is not filling up and my top hose has ripped. Im thinking this might be my problem.

Dalec cap problem
2 litre Aircooled bus
Re: Dalec cap problem
when the engine is cold the cap should create a seal if you cannot bolw/suck on the outlet, same as water cannot enter or leave the bottle.
opens up with presure(water expansion) allowing water into the top up tank. is then drawn back into coolant bottle as coolant cools/contracts
if cap is allowing air/ water passed you have a problem- you also will not be able to bleed the system!
blowing/sucking on the cap with it off the bottle will NOT work!

If your blowing hoses your head gasket is probably knackered.
The cap should release pressure at about 1 bar.
