Are there early and late rear engine splash guards?

Post by Cruz »

Are the rear splash guards (no 3 on image link below) different on early and late vans?

If so when fitting the later engine mount bracket (with the silencer hangers) will the early splash guard get in the way?

Cruz
I had the early exhaust Heat shroud
When I changed to the late exhaust (with the saddles) I cut the tin ware to allow the saddle mounts to come through.
I followed the already creased lines

worked a treat

Or you can get a second hand shroud from Billy739 and the like

there are cut aways for the hangers billy on the late shrouds.
I looked at shepsters new engine and the shroud that came with it was different in that respect.

Ironically he has returned to the early exhaust so those gaps are not used

The later nearside splashguard has a hole formed in it to allow for the metal water pipe from the pump to the t/stat housing, there's no difference on the offside as I'm aware ?

Hang on I've just found that on Ebay..
Be careful here there is talk on Brickyard that Syncrospares have stopped trading, I would call them first.

Having now seen a larger pic I can say more surely that it is what you want
I can see that what Ian says has a ring of truth as it looks wrong.
the expansion tank mount on the left is there and those cut outs should be going away from us.. not up
It should all bend back OK though

.... and, I'll say it again.. those cut outs can be cut into your own early shroud with some tin snips
the thing bolts on the same
