No headlights or windscreen wipers

Post by trickydicky »

Mmmmmmm,

Last night I went to drive home and discovered my lights wouldn't turn on to dipped beam and full beam wouldn't stay on with the normal pull on the switch, to complicate things more the windscreen wipers died at the same time.

From searching posts I have found the ignition switch was broken. This has been replaced with the GSF part and the wipers are working again, however still no joy with the headlights.

From testing the wires on the rear of the switch the trigger appears to be going in but no feed out to dipped beam, I am in the process of trying to sort out a replacement switch but can any one think of anything else that could be causing me the issues.

I have taken the switch apart and it looks worn but no major issues, I have though got twin lights on the front S/A style with the spots wired without a relay directly from the full beam feed as I am planning to do the relay upgrade on the lights at a later date with new wiring.

Any help appreciated.

i would maybe guess the headlight switch is burnt out, sounds like its overloaded, with the auxillary lights not wired correctly .
you should maybe also look at the wiring, it may also be damaged
