Morning Guys
I was wondering if anyone could help me diagnose what's potentially wrong with my van... 1985 1.9 DG
Was driving a route up the country that I'm more than familiar with, and at any incline (and I don't mean massive hill!) I had my foot to the floor and was still losing speed... and not revving high at all.
I think it may be something to do with the accelerator cable but I'm not much good with the mechanics stuff... the reason I've come to this conclusion is that the pedal seems to have a lot less movement than it used to - it seems to be sitting closer to the floor when not depressed. Had the AA out to fix it about 5 weeks ago when the thing that connects the pedal to the cable failed and the pedal just dropped into the floor. It was fine from having it fixed up until now though so could the cable be the issue?
Like I said I may be on completely the wrong lines so any suggestions as to what the point the garage at would be more than welcome.
Cheers
Vic
