smaller steering wheels on t3's

Post by dink »

i've read about people using smaller steering wheels on their t3's, but they get in the way of seeing the various warning lights
has anyone got around this problem yet, appart from putting the standard wheel back on
i have been thinking, how easy would it be to add a second set of LED's somewhere that they can be seen

Hmmm not sure thats true. With a standard wheel I cant see the lights. I can with my 13" Momo.

I think it depends how tall you are and your driving position...

Hi Dink..Sorry to jump in, but I have a smaller steering on my bus. I have P/S so no probs. I also have my seat packed up a bit (bad back) , so I look over the wheel and can see the lights etc. Problem is cant see speedo very well. On subject, anybody know where I can get a S/Wheel recovered. the leather is showing its age, and a bit frayed round the edges. (just like its owner) I have Emaild the makers but to answer. Hope sombody can help....Thanks

I've got a Scirocco wheel on mine.

It does obscure the LED's a bit but you get used to it no problem :)

btw - if fitting a Golf or Scirocco wheel you need to swap the horn ring for the one on your van wheel, and that involves carving away 4 plastic bits with a Stanley knife or similar, again no big problem.
