Cribbs Causeway overnight parking?
I'm off to the westcountry this week, and as I was planning to do a spot of shopping at Cribbs Causeway on the way, and intending to stop overnight somewhere to get an early start the next day, I wondered if I could combine the two.
Anyone stopped overnight here? I see there's a 24 hour Asda, thought that might be a possibility.

We've filled up at the Morrisons at Cribbs and at the Shell station plenty of times on the way to Cornwall but never slept there .... we've always moved on to either Okehampton services, Indian Queens MuckDonalds or the laybye at the top of Bodmin Moor. IIRC there's also a wild-camping spot off the A30 on the Wild camping map thread in Members Only

Simon ,
Cribbs Adsa is very busy , (its a 24hr wal-mart superstore) , We stop there on the way to the Bashtie , and every time there is always some boy racers in the boomboxes racing up and down. I wouldn't stop there because I doubt you would get any peace or even be able to relax which is even worse , Like Ian has already said check out the wild-camping post or even look on google earth for a 'off the track layby' or if there's just the two of you and your not poppin the poptop then urban camping on a side street , I have also look at the carpark near the big monument just off the M5 , can remember what its called now.
Enjoy and let us know where you finish up ,or add it to the wild camping post , and we'll up date it when/if we can

you are better to get over the river crossing anyway, as its a bottleneck in the mornings and teatime rush....
apart from that, what the others said....

Ah, the one over the Avon that you can see all the new cars parked up from? I've never found it much of a problem, to be honest, but then I don't generally go through there at rush hour. I'll bear it in mind, though - ta.

If it's of any use to you, we have stopped at Sedgemoor services a few times...free of charge. The services are about 30 minutes from Cribbs south on the M5. Just close the curtains and play dead if the car park guy comes round. He won't usually bother you in the car park, they are only usually interested in the lorries.
Not tried Gordano services overnight (5 minutes from Cribbs) but could be worth looking at

I was thinking about Gordano, but I read somewhere they charge the best part of £20, which seems a bit much.

Hmm..
"First two hours free for all vehicles, after which cars must pay £8 and caravans, coaches and HGVs £17.50. These prices include a £2/£7 food voucher respectively."
So, which of those categories does a T25 come under, I wonder? It fits in the same space as a car, more or less, so maybe they'll only charge £8. I want to be close to cribbs so I can do some last minute shopping in the morning, so I might just go for Gordano.

Not necessarily - but Cribbs is handy for shopping, and I find the A303 a more annoying drive, and more likely to have traffic woes.

I was thinking you could use the spot near stonehenge or the one at Oakhampton and then shop at the Tesco at Oakhampton (which I have overnighted at )
