Front suspension bushes

Post by slobbo »

Right Van failed on perished ARB bushes so while they have things apart I am going to get the garage to replace all the front end bushes. So what do I need?

I have already
- Upper wishbone bushes
- Powerflex lower arm bushes

What else do I need?

Baxters picture is missing from his site so I can't even guess from that.

Oh and any tips for difficult bits of the job I can tell the garage?
Cheers
Rob.

Site back up, it's a bit flakey but it is there now.
It's also verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyy slow, and the check out doesn't work properly, which is great.
At the moment, if you use firefox it works, if you use IE it doesn't.
I believe it's now set so you can place an order but not pay for it, if you get this far we'll ring for card details.

Rotten Luck Rob,

You've had to spend a lot of Wonga on that bus of yours...... Should have kept Rusells Red Bus.

If its any consolation my Old Red Doka sailed through its MOT just needed a dash light bulb to get a PASS...............

I'm doing a lot of this work at the mo. There is another bush (and surrounding bits) that may be worth replacing (mine were FUBAR). The damper bush which mounts at the top of the damper above the chassis. For part numbers - > Rust Crumble
ps Fit the power flex lower arm bushes, as the originals are a b'stard (learnt the hard way )

Knocked this up (well numbered bits). Who can tally the numbers with what they are called on Brickwerks. And which bits are syncro only and which are common with 2wd. Which is the ARB Upper drop link which comes in 3 sizes? What have I missed?

Thanks Simon. Updated the image with the lower control arm bushes. That would be 9.

Is this picture and text a candidate for the wiki?

9. Lower Control Arm Bushes - Powerflex replacement available from Brickwerks.

Am I right in thinking that 8. is this lot?
cover cap for nut, essential 251 413 437
nut m10x1 N 011 011 5
plate for damping ring (big fo washer) 251 413 431
damping ring 701 513 121
bush inside damping ring 251 413 439 C
then it's the chassis
underneath is 251 411 123 F which is the rubber bumpstop on top of the dust cover 113 412 305 01C
Cheers
