Right... This is a bit strange now! That 10mm tube is probably a vacuum pipe. It's used for the vacuum assisted braking... On 2 litre models!
The 1.6 CT setup doesn't have these as there is no brake servo on 1.6 litre vans.
I have one on mine because I have a 2 litre van (which has the servo) but with a 1.6 litre engine installed. This meant I had to drill into the manifold, tap a thread and screw in a fitting to accept the vacuum pipe. The pipe runs from the front of the van (under instrument cover) to the engine compartment and comes out on the top left side of the rear engine bulkhead where there is a non return valve in the line. It then connects onto the manifold.
Double check but if this is not needed, block it off.
The fuel return line can be blanked off with a small length of fuel line pushed over it, a round 'plug' pushed up inside the fuel line and clips to hold everything securely in place.
Mark.

I'm located in Rotherham south yorks and don't know any yocal experts I thought it might have been a leaking servo effecting the left bank but I removed and blocked the pipe off and it made no difference I've got equal compressions across the cylinders what should I set the valve clearance to?
