Hey guys!

So I've been super tight on cash (Recently moved), and my 84 Vanagon's o2 sensor started acting up. It was causing all sorts of running problems, (The sensor was way past it's time to die) so I unplugged it and my van started to run fine again.

This was all well and good, I only needed to commute for a few more days to work before I could afford a new sensor - but the other day my van decided to quit on me. It started losing power for about a minute and then I was forced to pull over to the side of the road and I had to get a tow truck. As it stands, he idles and starts okay, but the second I give him some throttle he'll sputter and die. Unless I open the throttle pretty much all way up, he'll rev okay but then die right after. Hooking up my old sensor again doesn't seem to change the situation at all.

I've already ordered a new o2 sensor (of course), but I'm wondering if there's other things I could have potentially damaged to cause this problem, of if it could be unrelated. Or if you figure the new sensor should do the trick in itself.

sounds more like an afm issue or a temp2 sensor issue to me, has plug come out, what's the readings on them ?
