I'm wondering why you have condensation problems in a draughty old van.
What exactly is the issue?

Re: Rotary roof vent
you mean like the ones on trasnshites and such that spin like crazy as you drive ? if so they would be a reeeet pain and noisy in strong winds, there are some solar powered fan ones that work well!

I am getting a lot of condensation on the roof and side panels behind the lining material. Although MDF has been usee for the lining base and is far from breathable. I am going the other route and adding extra insulation and putting in a vapour barrier behind the boarding. The idea of the rotary air vent is to help with cooking moisture etc.

Yep there the ones. I am told that you can lock the better ones off when you need to and can control the air flow with an internal shutter. Do the solar vents work as well in the winter as the summer as this is when I will need it the most.

Re: Rotary roof vent
I had one and worked fine, biggest problem is people insulate there vans so well and there is no were near enough air flow to combat the condensation on glass etc, best to get solar roof vent and some metal vents that fit to the front driver and passenger windows!

Can imagine the problem well.. makes sense to increase roof height ventilation if easy enough to do
What is a solar vent ? More info please.
