Try a carver SB1800

Fitted on in my old van and it was ideal. No battery usage and cheap to run on the LPG

I've got one of those cheap £10 heaters that takes a gas cartridge, works a treat AND if you put the kettle on as well you can sell the excess to the van next to you..........

Luckily our van had an eberspacher when we bought it.

If we hadn't got one it would be top of our wish list.

So did ours - one of these days I'll get round to fixing it. In the meantime, a cheapo Argos fan heater does just fine.

240v kitchen kick board heater wired into the hook-up. Runs on a 5a fuse and gets the van toasty in 5 minutes. Downside, only works in campsites.
But thats fine for family trips and if I'm just surfing somewhere I wear more clothes!

I have a propex but not had it working as yet as we always go on sites with hook up and there we use a small oil filled radiator just keeps the chill off and dont take up much space.

I'm hoping that your van is well ventilated whilst doing this so that the carbon monoxide can escape

We use a propex heater which are well worth the investment if you're gonna be camping regularly during the winter. Using propane (red gas bottle, or underfloor gas tank) rather than butane makes winter camping a lot easier because butane doesn't vaporise well once the ambient temperature drops below 5 degrees C (or summat like that). Propane will continue to vaporise down to -20 degrees.

This sounds like a good idea. Where did you fit it? We use hook up a lot these days as it seems to work out equal to paying for the leccy or paying for the gas.

I salvaged mine when my sister had a new kitchen fitted, free is such a nice word! You can pick the up new for about £60-70. Not really cheap but much cheaper than propex etc.

I have propex as well ,but just flicking through the insructions anyone know a basic [a mean basic] guide to atualy get it going ,I was pressing lots of switches , but apart from cold air nothing else was coming out...

I've a B3L petrol ebber that cost me a mere £75 but has been sat in a box for 6 months. Must get round to fitting it. Will probably tackle it when I rip the r&r bed out for a replacement in the spring. The weather will soon be too cold for my poor pinkies to be working outside

I think it's only got the basic on/off switch though and it's quite a large heater

How easy are they to fit and get any missing parts such as exhaust conduit, fuel line etc?
