my water pump is screeching when i start up and some times when i an pulling away
when driving . fitted new fan belt and ajusted i alfter a few miles.
do i need a new water pump or can i do some thing to stop it screeching .
and is it ok to drive it .thanks

I would take the fan belt back off and spin the water pump by hand, if it feels lumpy or like it may be seizing up then I would get it replaced before driving it again. You really dont want the pump to seize causing you to over heat and possibly killing the engine.
If all feels ok then I would check that you have the right belt, easy to get the wrong one, It could also be that the pulleys are worn so that the belt doesn't sit snugly into the pulley and slips .
