New clutch for a 2l air cooled

Post by samk »

Hi all. When the van was in for it's MOT the mechanic told me the Clutch was on it's last legs. I think he's trust worthy but is there a fairly simple way to verify this?

Also, any recommendations on a good replacement would be good. I want to get it sorted before Brighton breeze. I haven't has time for many shows so I don't want it to be ruined by an embarrassing break down in front of hundreds of vans!

when its out check the flywheel has not cracked between the mounting bolts as these engines are prone to it , fitting is easy even a novice should be able to change clutch in around 2 hours
