Front brake rebuild

Im just about to order front CV's (from Brickwerks) and was wondering if drilled and grooved disks will make a difference to the stopping power?

Im not wanting to go down the vented disc route just yet, so as a stop gap will groovy drilled disks be better than standard solid?

Yes they will improve the stopping power but will accelerate the pad wear
