Kev - sorry, am confused here. The way Ive read this is that you are saying Cruz (and me!) need to get part No 5 on the above diagram, in order to fit the later DG exhaust instead of an earlier one? Ive got an early DG (or I thought I did!) and below is a pic of my 'part No 5 - cradle' which I figured was on ALL DG engines? Are you saying Ive already got what I need to hang a LATER DG exhaust system onto?

Carrier 5 lists a few different part numbers. the etos image is just a rehash of the pre-85 mount....I think

I have decided to defer from fitting an exhaust for a couple of months until I can get the exhaust mount fitted plus a few other things done that will take up some of the cash I had put aside for the exhaust. Don't want to stretch my finances. It's not like it's desperate and falling off or anything. If it get's worst I can just book it in and raid our pegs piggy bank

Anyway the route I have taken isn't the ideal route for many early van owners. So I will be more interested to hear how you go on and any future owners of the planned Brickwerks early stainless system.

well, Speedshop system arrived within 2 days, fitted easily, sounds quieter than the stock m/s JK system I had, and 'throatier' - a lovely look and sound! Well chuffed! Will post pics etc on separate thread soonest....
