1.9 hose from water pump to block -Help !

1.9 DG, the hose that runs from the water pump to the block on the right side. The rubber connecting hose was leaking, removed and binned the old hose, bought piece of 1 inch hose but cannot get it to all go back together !!!. The problem seems to be the new hose wont handle the sharp bend required to enable the steel pipe that fixes to the right hand side to get back on the studs. Spent all day on this and its driving me bonkers, is there a knack, secret trick or is it a case of there is a special pre formed pipe to do the job ?. checked the wiki and couldn't find anything in there

what year are we talking about ?
pipe above the pulley or behind the pulley ?

1983 with the pipe that runs behind the pulleys and has arubber joining piece for no apparent reason, aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

rubber pipe is straight section not preformed
58mm long
not normally a problem, hardest bit is accessing the jubilees to do it up
take the pulley off if you are really struggling

a haaaa, well mine are not lined up so definitely has got bent at some point in the past, the pipe is pretty rotten too so may just get a new steel pipe, that should solve it , cheers....did wonder why they didnt line up !!
