Thanks all.

He arrived at his diagnosis the second I said 'my vans blowing hoses'! But to be honest I've had dealings with Manchester Aircooled in the past and the chap there does tend to be quite arsy (in my experiance). His parting words were 'good luck'... Will have to get a pipe though just so I can get it somewhere to get checked.
