Anyone seen one of these?

Post by JacquiVintage »

Hopefully this will work and you will see a picture of what I'm trying to find. It's a small bayonet pearlised lamp, 12v, 12w from the overhead light fitting from a Holdsworth Villa 3 ... I've been trying to find one for ages. Bus Bulbs are too wide for the fitting and I'd like to keep the original housing.

Any ideas anyone??

Jacqui

If it's the same size fitting as a tail light try http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-36-TOP-LED-Car ... 1e5dd450ae if you can't do it yourself.

E D I T: what is the width/diameter of the base of the bulb?

Caravan /camping shops sell them. From a 12v spotlight isn't it? I found them after taking mine out and replacing with an LED spotlight. [which is a much better idea]. This is the kinda thing http://www.leisurepower.co.uk/acatalog/mr16g53spot.html

Where you can, with exception of headlights, as bulbs blow, replace with LED versions. Last longer and use less juice. They vary a lot though, some more yellow, some more blue so experiment. Search ebay for LEDs 12v as you'll often find LEDs already fitted with correct resistor for 12v in packs of 100 or more which is great for lighting up interior where you need it. Alternative is £30-ish from DIY stores for inset patio lights which come with 12v transformer (which you won't need). These fit flush into cupboards, seat bases etc. Most standard bulbs have LED equivalents now as suggested above.
