Trailing arm removal - future job

Post by fairwynds »

Hi
have been meaning to post this, with a view to preparing myself for a forthcoming job on my van. (doesnt NEED doing yet, but I look at those rusted bolts and think....hmmmmm)
Rear trailing arms, need to remove them and renew bushes and get the arms cleaned up and repainted.
Apart from the two pins/bolts each side being very stubborn to remove, can anyone give any top tips for this job and any jobs that can be done whilst arms are off?
Worthwhile to anyone else if I do a photographic 'how to' for Wiki?
Whadya fink?

If memory serves me right, this has been covered before. Easy enough to get off although I gather sometimes the main bolt each side has to be ground out and getting a new bush in can be tricky. Try searching for trailing arms in this forum and you should find what you need.
