Expedition Spec Syncro

Post by syncropaddy »

I see in the classifieds that there is such a thing called an Expedition Spec Syncro!!

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=74032

Now I thought I knew a bit about Syncros - having bought my first one in 2003 and currently owning two - but I would put money down on the fact that VW never made an Expedition Spec Syncro. In this case Id put money down and say it was nothing more than a home brew/bitza converted Panel Van with THE MOST DANGEROUS fitment of a spare wheel I have ever laid eyes on. Why the owner couldn't get a proper wheel carrier under there instead of the bungy straps is beyond me.

Surely we need to monitor the descriptions placed in the classifieds more closely.

Lots of failed expeditions maybe in 2wd and no diff locks also looks like it's running 14s and as he hasn't mentioned mr Talbot gearing is probably wrong for the engine. So who is the Syncro expert who shall remain anonymous? Come on own up

We do , The guy has been very honest in his ad. He even mentions the spare wheel . He also mentions that if you search his posts it will reveal more about the van.
