White smoke coming from nearside rear ...

Post by eric »

... a lady neighbour called a little earlier saying about white smoke. She'd only just pulled up beside the old shed apparently. I had parked up about 3 hours before the lady had arrived.

By the time I had got down the stairs and out to the parking area there was no sign whatsoever of said smoke.

I have LPG with 2x45 litre tanks underslung either side of the vehicle and the smoke was coming from the opposite site of the filler screw-on valve which is about 2 thirds of the bus toward the back. I filled up about 60 miles ago.

I have no idea how long this smoke had been coming out and neither had the lady. I started the bus up and let her tick over for several minutes on gas and had another look ...... no sign, nothing.

I am not only completely baffled but also very worried.

Any ideas and advice of a plan of action would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your considerations

Eric.

Isn't there a pressure relief on lpg tanks - could have got warm and vented causing fogging.

Unless it fills a LOT more than the 80% and got very very very hot......... Nope....

Could be that the filler pipe/connection has a leak... but 60 miles and 3+ hours would be a long time for it to still leak out...
