Headlight

I pulled of my headlamp cover whilst removing my beam benders, put it back on travelled to RTTH and it fell out on grass , was siliconed back togehter but no lights working ..will I need a new unit ?

You shouldn't need a new one. Take the lamp out and check to make sure it's still ok and clean up the connector behind the light unit. Other than that, it's check the earth time again if no lights on that side are working.

I am afraid that is all too much for my little pea brain as if the unit has been sealed how can I check ? also which is the earth ?

You can check from the back. It's just like changing the lamp, you get to it from the back. There's a spring clip holding the lamp in place and the connector just pushes onto the lamp connections.
The earth wire should be brown in colour and going to that same connector.
