FUEL LEAK

HI Guys

I have just returned form 10 days camping (worst weather ever flooded out in new forest), that's another story.

On way home I filled up with fuel until pump clicked to say full tank.
Went and paid on return noticed fuel pissing out on left side of tank.

Can anyone recommend a garage or individual who can sort this out as I don't fancy messing with fuel related stuff myself.
Guessing it may be a hole in top of tank or breather tank/pipe issues.

Are replacement tanks available for Air cooled T25's???

Whoa, hang fire buddy, it might not be new tank time just yet.

I had the same problem with mine when we first got it and it may be a grommit that has perished, or a T/Y connector that connects to the expansion tank that has snapped, or even just a fuel hose to one of the expansion tanks that has come off.

Which side was it coming from? And where about in Beds are you?

Sounds like perished expansion tank breather pipes.....check the Wiki it' all there and a very common problem.

filler neck at the tank or breathers.. all easy to do as said.

This also can happen if you get a little carried away with trying to get the last half litre in the tank,

When I picked up a westy for a friend I did the usual full tank fill up that i would do on my Golf, IE keep going till it clicked of then a little more for luck..... came back out of the garage and noticed a big wet patch under the near side ( the forecourt did slope that way ) anyway I came on here asking on advice to take the tank out etc etc and got some great advice to check the expansion tanks and pipes either side under the arches first as these are known to perish. Any way I did all that and all was fine, turns out the problem was the muppet trying to get a pint into a quart glass ! The van has been filled to the top loads of times since and no problems at all, just slow down as you reach the full mark.
