Re: electric seats switches
Reverse polarity?? why? you want the switches to work opposite to the original vehicle?? all you do it connect the neg to the poss supply and the pos to the earth..... its DC, "Direct Current".. Make sure you use fuses though....
Re: electric seats switches
no switches came with these seats, im going straight to the motors with 12v, when you reverse the wires the motors run the opposite way, i.e. backward and forward. im just after a switch that can do this

Re: electric seats switches
You need a 3-way double pole rocker switch, with six terminals on. Make sure the switch will take the current the motor draws, or you'll melt your switch. If not you need to wire it through two relays instead of this way.
Looking at the back of your switch there should be two rows of three terminals each. Looking at the switch with the terminals facing towards you, we will cal the top row of terminals "1," "2" and "3" and the bottom row "4," "5" and "6."
connect "1" to "6."
connect "4" to "3."
connect "2" to the positive on the motor, connect "5" to the negative on the motor.
Connect "1" on the switch to a positive ignition feed (fused). Connect "4" to earth.
The middle position is the "off" position. The two outside switch positions should now select between "forward" and "reverse" operation.

Re: electric seats switches
Hmmm, gonna have to leave that one with you. Without seeing the pins on the switches you link to it's nigh on impossible to say if that will do what you want, and not actually sure what you mean....
Surely you need a switch for each motor.....? Not sure how or why you'd have it any other way.hixsy wrote:is there a way around havin 1 switch for each motor ?

Re: electric seats switches
Yep, they'll do it. Good price too.
Are you gonna mount em straight in the side of the boxes under the seats, near handrake? Could look nice n neat there.
