Who needs a petrol starter

Post by slobbo »

I am looking at getting a starter made for my setup. I need the short starter because I have the short pin diff lock. Problem is the short starter has less oomph than the later starter which is in mine just now. Now the original spec for the Corrado VR6 starter is 1.8kw and the 2.1 petrol short starter is .78kw so am guessing isn't enough to turn the VR6 over. The company I am checking out just now is http://www.powerlite-units.com/starter.htm. It should be compact, light, use less juice and be more powerful than the original short and long starter but will also be more expensive. Probably £30 plus more expensive. Will know more soon.

Question is would anyone else be interested? Would be a direct replacement for all 1.9 and 2.1 petrol starters 2wd and 4wd. Could negotiate a cheaper price if a few are interested.
Cheers
Rob.
