Fuel Tank

Post by katkin77 »

Just filled up our recently purchased 1982 camper and fuel started leaking all over the forecourt...brilliant

Took to a local garage who discovered the top of the fuel tank had rusted through.
The tank has a larger filler neck (68mm vs regular 48mm)

Anyone know of any good suppliers to contact?

Also wondered whether we could just fit a fuel tank with a 48mm filler neck with a replacement 48mm filler pipe or would that just create issues elsewhere?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Get one from brickwerks, Might be a couple of quid more but there good quality, thats where mine came from.
I got a filler neck here (48mm) if you can't find one(bought it off ebay but didn't need it). Needs the big seal where it pushes into the tank.

I had the same problem when i bought my van. Got one from brickwerks and it fitted perfectly! mine was a 68mm filler neck too, so no need to fit a new neck. Just make sure you give it some good protection on top to stop the dreaded rot!!!!
